Pope Benedict Clears Jews of Christ’s Death

The pope has written a detailed and personal repudiation of the idea that the Jews were collectively responsible for the death of Jesus.

In a book to be published next week, he concludes that those responsible for the crucifixion were the "Temple aristocracy" and supporters of the rebel Barabbas.

Dismissing the centuries-old interpretation of St John's assertion that it was "the Jews" who demanded Barabbas's release and Jesus’ execution, the pontiff asks: "How could the whole people have been present at this moment to clamor for Jesus’ death?"

Edinboro Selected For NCAA Division II Playoffs; Will Host Atlantic Regional

The NCAA announced on Sunday night that the Edinboro University women’s basketball team is one of eight teams selected to participate in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional and 64 teams headed to the NCAA Playoffs. The indefatigable Harry Connick Jr. has just released CD and DVD versions of 'In Concert on Broadway,' from his 15-day run at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York this past July. Connick, who will return to Broadway this fall in 'On a Clear Day You Can See Forever,' will also star with Morgan Freeman in the feature film 'Dolphin Tale,' out in September. He'll bring his Broadway concert to Boston for a five-day run at the Colonial Theater April 26-30

Bucks Wedding Expo Caters to Gay Couples

Newtown Township - It's never too soon to start planning a wedding.

That's why Shannon Tyndall, 28, and Heather Postlewait, 28, headed to Bucks County's second annual Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Newtown Township on Sunday.

Such an expo, they said, takes out the awkwardness for same-gender couples looking to get married. When the Norristown couple decided to start planning for their May 25, 2013, commitment ceremony, they attended conventional bridal expos and "they just didn't feel right."
