Trans-Siberian
Orchestra in
Review
By Cindy Hemper
Last Wednesday
the
Trans-Siberian
Orchestra gave a
concert at
Erie’s beautiful
and historic
Warner Theater
and was welcomed
by an audience
that was to say
the least, warm
and excited.
This was the
first time I had
attended a
concert by the
Trans-Siberian
Orchestra. I was
expecting a
mellow program,
but then quickly
realized it was
going to be
anything but. It
was an amazing
performance and
much like the
crowd, I was so
awed by what
they were able
to do, and I
loved the music,
and the
violinist...Read

5th Annual Erie
Micro Brew
Festival
By Cindy Hemper
When April rolls
around most
people think of
blooming flowers
and trees,
spring-cleaning
and most
importantly the
thought of
summer fun just
around the
corner. While
this is true for
most of us, not
the good folks
at WQLN and the
Brewerie at
Union Station,
they have beer
on the brain.
Every spring the
Brewerie at
Union Station
and WQLN, roll
out the barrel, to
celebrate their favorite
season, spring. After
months of snow, who
isn't ready for a spring
fling. This year the
Micro Brew Fest will
have a special focus on
Ohio brewers. The
Buckeyes invented the
pop-top can, the hot
dog, chewing gum and
they make great beer...Read

Unexpected
Allies
By Chris
Rudisill
It's rare that
you get the
chance to be
taken off guard
by someone's
vote of
confidence in
you - or their
unexpected
support. I guess
it's human
nature - a
survival tactic.
Whenever I speak
to someone, I can
generally get a sense of
their disposition pretty
quickly. Is this person
going to like me? Does
this person require a
more conservative
approach? It's not that
we should change who we
are - but we often alter
the way we act or behave
in order to fit in with
a crowd, or we simply
choose to walk away from
those situations that we
may feel a viral
reaction to. It's
normal...Read

Barstool Review,
April Edition
By Bruce
Stingspring
This month’s
Barstool Review
focuses on one
of State
Street’s oldest
Irish pubs,
Scully’s Pub.
Since 1980
Scully’s has
been the kind of
place that
friends can get
together for
good a time,
grab a beer, and
enjoy a game of
pool.
With the new
renovations and
the arrangement
of the tables
giving way to a
spacious dining
experience with
plenty of room
for an entire
family, along
with a complete
menu for adults,
children, and
especially the
way the tables
are set up,
darning neat
table clothes,
it is as if you
were flung back
in time to an
old-time
pizzeria...Read

Quote of the Week
Did
You Know....
The fellow that can only
see a week ahead is
always the popular
fellow, for he is
looking with the crowd.
But the one that can see
years ahead, he has a
telescope but he can't
make anybody believe
that he has it. ~ Will
Rogers
"Speak of the Devil" is
short for "Speak of the
Devil and he shall
come". It was believed
that if you spoke about
the Devil it would
attract his attention.
That's why when your
talking about someone
and they show up people
say "Speak of the Devil"
