Finally Charles captures something on his audio recorder that proves they're not all going crazy. He decides to make a stand, enlisting the help of his long-time buddy, Rob Tupper, to delve into the mystery of his unwanted guest and hopefully send it on its way. Rob's worried about his buddy. He's been acting really strange lately ... well, even stranger than usual. Rob knows that things have been rough for Charles - struggling to make ends meet in a down economy, dealing with the unexplained disappearance of his brother-in-law, and now these claims of some ghost harassing his family. Rob is skeptical that there's anything paranormal going on, but he agrees to help his friend out if only to find out the real nature of the problem.

With the lights out, they are led on an adventure of paranormal encounters: cold spots, an eerie talking children's book, unexplained apparitions and a final mystery that leads to an unforgettably disturbing ending.

Guided by Miss Vanderheyden, their mother figure and warden, this house full of misfits help each other through the hardest challenges they have ever faced.

While Marshall is pushed into situations designed to provoke his anger and force him to control his violent eruptions, he falls for a self-destructive poetess with an abusive boyfriend, making self-control almost impossible. The Triangle of Death
Directed By: Folleh S. Tamba
Exact Runtime
00 hr : 88 min : 00 sec
In category: Documentary Feature

The Triangle of Death takes place during the 2004-2005 time frame during Iraq's transition from a dictatorship to a democracy. In order to tell the story of 2nd Battallion 24th Marines director Folleh S. Tamba had to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted as a reservist and upon completing his basic training and MOS he was assigned to the unit and sent to Iraq. Upon returning to the U.S. Folleh called a long time friend and fellow filmmaker Juan Montelongo with whom he began shooting his documentary with. They both went on a month and a half long road trip tracking down his fellow Marines and getting their story on tape. It was with an exciting and interesting story that Folleh and Juan felt they could find funding to make their film, but alas and to no avail none could be found. Folleh, using funds from his deployment, decided to purchase the equipment necessary to tell this story and in doing so enlisted the additional help of Eugene Gordon editor, Tom Balazs sound designer, and Thomas Hartmann Composer and Producer. It has taken over four years to tell this story and the journey will continues...

The Marines of 2nd Battalion 24th Marines tell the story of a foreign land engulfed in daily combat. Living day-by-day and seeing a country that wants to change, existing in a world that doesn't. Every step towards democracy is an invitation for destruction, every accomplishment is never enough, and everybody has already decided what he or she thinks about Iraq. In short this is a story of people helping people regardless of politics, presidents, or public opinion. This is the story of the triangle of death and how its people chose to participate in Iraq’s first democratic national elections.

Opening Night at the Phil

Opening Night at the Phil has become a signature Erie event. This year will be no exception as we open with Richard Strauss' daring tone poem about the infamous lover, Don Juan. From the virile fanfares of our "hero" off on another conquest, to the seductive music of Dulcinea, Don Juan impresses from the first flurry of notes to Don's final palpitations. We then offer a unique pairing of two outstanding guest artists: one is our own Concertmaster Ken Johnston, and the other is newly-appointed Principal Cello of the Cleveland Orchestra, Mark Kosower. They will share the stage in Saint-Saëns' charming duet about the poetic spark. To close our Opening Night, Mark will return to perform Dvořák's beloved Cello Concerto. A work of symphonic proportions, this music has tested the mettle of great cellists throughout history, and Mark is sure to bring his innate musicianship and stunning talent to this amazing work.

Classics in the Evening with WQLN's Wally Faas, a pre-concert discussion, will be presented in the First Niagara Community Room adjacent to the Warner Theatre beginning at 7:15 pm. It is free to ticket holders.

Tickets prices for the show range from $20 - $50. Discounts are available for students and groups of 20 or more; please call our box office for information. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The 2011-2012 season is presented by Scott Enterprises. The Symphonic Series is sponsored by Lincoln Metal, WQLN and JET1400 Radio. This Saturday's performance is presented by the Bel-Aire and is in memory of Pauline Scott. Ken Johnston is sponsored by Christie and Robert Ferrier, and Mark Kosower is sponsored by Edward Jones.

Food Drive Held as Part of

Hunger Action Month

As part of Hunger Action Month during September, I participated in a legislative food drive held at the Capitol on Tuesday, with Crawford County resident and Secretary of Agriculture George Grieg.

View my video comments from today’s event

More than a million Pennsylvania residents are in need of the support of regional food banks, and that number has continued to grow as a result of the recent economic downturn. This food drive is one way that we can raise awareness of this serious issue.

Pennsylvania has reported a 43.9 percent increase in the need for food assistance since 2008, and a federal government study recently indicated that more Americans were in poverty in 2010 than at any other time since poverty levels were first published in 1952; the 2010 poverty rate stood at 15.1 percent.

As a member of the Pennsylvania Legislative Hunger Caucus, I am teaming up with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwestern Pennsylvania for a collection in the northwestern Pennsylvania area. I am encouraging local residents to take part in the collection.

Anyone who would like to participate in the food drive can drop the items off at the Second Harvest Food Bank headquarters at 1507 Grimm Drive, Erie. Hours there are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the office can be reached at (814) 459-3663.

Non-perishable items will be collected and can include:
                    • Cereal
                    • Tuna or canned salmon
                    • Fruit or vegetable juice
                    • Canned beans
                    • Canned vegetables
                    • Peanut butter
                    • Canned fruit

For more information, visit the Second Harvest Food Bank online at www.eriefoodbank.org or call Samantha at (814) 459-3663, ext. 108.
