This Weekend’s Hot Spot
Sonic Medusa, Poets & Thieves, and East Ave at Bobby’s Place
By Terry Pentelli
This Saturday, June 8th at 8pm, Bobby’s Place located at 1202 West 18th Street will set the stage and rock the house with a mash up of three of Erie’s hardest hitting bands of the Punk and Rock genres, all set on the massive outdoor patio.
East Ave, Sonic Medusa, and Poets and Thieves will take the stage and kick off Bobby’s summer show season in real Rock style.
As one of Erie’s hidden treasures, Bobby’s Place has been entertaining Erie for more than thirty years with top of the line music, some of the lowest drink prices in town, and that hometown feel that you get as soon as you walk through the door.
Bobby’s Place is a classic style tavern packed with good times and charming atmosphere, along with some of the best musicians Erie has to offer performing at the venue. In addition, Bobby’s Place has the largest outdoor performance space and covered patio of any local tavern in town.
With a very high-octane Rock show, Sonic Medusa dispenses gritty and unrelenting music with an edge of urban rasp that like a fine wine, gets better the more you indulge.
Sonic Medusa is a hard driving four-piece band busting out pure Punk mixed with the sweetest Rock sound and that party hard style that keeps the crowds rocking from start to finish.
As an edgy and insanely talented four-piece group of musicians, Poets & Thieves pumps out nonstop, fist-pumping Rock at its finest, never letting the music or the party stop for even a minute.
With screaming Guitar riffs, pounding Basslines, and killer set lists, Poets & Thieves hit you hard with the freshest, high-energy originals and a rock till you drop attitude that guarantees the best bitchin good times in town.
Rounding out this supercharged show is Erie’s coolest, grooviest original Rock band, East Ave, bringing everything you could possibly want from a band to the stage every show.
Mixing a mega mash up of styles and sounds, East Ave fuses Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Funk, and some Folk and Country into a sound so fresh, clean and tight that the original Rock music sound seems to be redefined into something more than what it was before.
This seven-member collaboration of talent and party in a box is comprised of Pat Vahey on Guitar, Joe Vahey on Drums, Elly Vahey on lead vocals, Doug Russell on Bass Guitar, Tim Sul on Guitar, and Royce Wilson on Acoustic and Lap Steel Guitar and Patrick Vahey on Lead Male Vocals.
If you are out and about this Saturday, stop up to Bobby’s Place and enjoy one of the best nights in music this weekend, with the best drink prices in town. As a special bonus, as hard as it may be to believe, the entire show is completely free with absolutely no cover charge. Could it get any better than this…
