The Allegheny Choirs will offer a concert of short choral works at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 in Shafer Auditorium at Allegheny College. Admission is free.
The College Chorus, Chamber Choir, Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble and Choir will perform an assortment of historic and contemporary pieces. The program will include works by G.F. Handel, Johannes Brahms, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Eric Whitacre and Randall Thompson, among other composers.
The concert repertoire will include holiday and seasonal selections as well as several pieces in recognition of Pearl Harbor Day. The Choirs are led by James D. Niblock, a 1997 graduate of Allegheny College. Kevin Dill, Ward Jamison and Jim Ross will accompany the various vocal groups on piano. Student and community singers will also be featured as vocal soloists.
