Blue Pike’s Shotgun Jubilee and C. Brown

By Lucas Scotts

In this week’s article our focus is on the Blue Pike Music Award Winners, Shotgun Jubilee and C. Brown, two of the most talented and creative musical artists in the City.

With a great sense of lyrical and instrumental creativity, Shotgun Jubilee blends Bluegrass with a toe tapping jam band feel that delivers a distinct and very addictive sound that has earned them not only a music award, but an ever growing fan base throughout the area.

Shotgun Jubilee is a high energy four-piece band that is made up of Paul Schillinger on Lead Electric Guitar and Vocals, Dominick DeCecco on vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin and Banjo, along with Steve Powell on Drums and Jason Shaner on Bass Guitar.

Since 2006, Shotgun Jubilee has been a driving force in our local music scene, sharing the stage with heavy hitters such as Ekoostik Hookah, Dangermuffin, Donna the Buffalo, Turbine, the Waterband, the Cabinet, The Recipe, Big Leg Emma, The Town Pants, and Buckwheat Zydeco, along with many more.

With passionate lyrics, fresh and funky rhythms, along with dynamic performances, Shotgun Jubilee charms and overwhelms audiences with high-speed energy and a super groovy feel that has crowned the band as our local Jamgrass Kings.

As winner of the Best Urban Artist, C. Brown is one of our City’s beat masters and a true superstar of our local scene, and definitely a Hip Hop master.

Since his teens, C. Brown has been writing and rapping, growing into his own, cutting a path through the local Hip Hop scene, rising to the top and taking over the game with that “real deal” feel to every rhyme.

His knack for clever and creative rhymes and strong bumpin beats invites the listener to be drawn in to the music while cbrownBrown’s devastating and charismatic delivery shines through with every beat.

With hard hitting, commanding and off the chain rhymes like “Drink To Forget You”, “Super Star”, “Precious Potential”, “Broken Promises”, “My Hopelessness” “Angel From A Corner”, “Solitary Confinement”, and “Square 1”, Brown brings the noise and rocks the crowd every time.

Never switching up his method and staying strong to his music, Brown has worked with the best, and is unquestionably one of the finest most gifted and powerful performers our City has ever produced.

While his fans rave about his straight-up hip-hop music, his fellow artists pay him his props and Brown keeps it true and keeps cranking that raw, real and authentic sound that makes him the superstar that he has become, and that will surely usher him to heights unknown.

As two of the artists that make our scene worth being a part of and certainly among the best reasons to tune into local music, Shotgun Jubilee and C. Brown are the best and the brightest our City has to offer.
