The Erie Art Museum will open its doors on President’s Day, Monday, February 20, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with free admission, donations encouraged.
On view are the new installation Tin-Plated Dreams: Sculptures by William Brady, Jr., remarkable ceramic sculptures of Sergei Isupov: Hidden Messages, the recently installed art quilt exhibit Earth Stories, and the new “Kids as Curators” exhibit.
There will be a special Mid-Day Art Break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. featuring the jazz gurus, Ethnic Heritage Ensemble. Comprised of internationally renowned percussionist Kahil El’ Zabar with Corey Wilkes on trumpet and Alex
Harding on baritone sax; the trio seamlessly combines the ancient rhythms of the past with new frontiers of improvisation. A fanfare of colors, sounds and rhythmical hipness, a performance by the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble is a celebration of deep jazz. Admission is free, with a $15 donation encouraged.
