The Erie Playhouse Wins State Theatre Competition

The Glorious Ones, the Erie Playhouse entry at PACT (Pennsylvania Association of Community Theatres) Theatre Festival held in Williamsport, PA this weekend, was awarded the honor of Outstanding Production earlier today (Sunday, March 19) at the awards ceremony. This is the same competition that earned the Playhouse the honor of one of the ten best community theatres in the nation.

The production was also recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Acting (Shawn Clerkin, Jean Malthaner, Kate Amatuzzo), Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Achievement in Directing (Almi Clerkin), Outstanding Achievement in Costumes (Ryan Ingram and Crystal Corritore), Outstanding Achievement in Set Design (Christine Daugherty), and Outstanding Achievement in Choreography (Jean Malthaner). In all, the Playhouse received 10 awards. 

The Playhouse now advances to the regional competition, which will be in Delaware later this Spring.

Other theatres in the competition included the Altoona Community Theatre – Altoona, PA; The Barnstormers – Ridley Park, PA; Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre – Wilkes-Barre, PA; Barley Sheaf Players – Lionsville, PA and the Community Theatre League – Williamsport, PA.
