The Erie Art Museum offers the educational program, Second Sundays, every month. This free program features art on display in the Museum, a tour of the gallery, and a hands-on craft. The next program will take place on Sunday, August 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Participants will look carefully at the Museum’s large folk art carousel. Then everyone is invited to make a bagpipe, a bassoon, (very effective yet simple using tubes and balloons) or a canjo
(a twanging instrument made from fishing line and a can). Then participants will work together to create short compositions which will be recorded by hip hop producer and beatmeister Naji Adamson. Adamson will work
with participants to loop and layer their compositions to create a 21st-century carousel soundtrack. This program is must for anyone who loves deep grooves, wacky instruments, and steampunk flair!
Second Sundays provide FREE admission to the Erie Art Museum from 1:00 to 5:00p.m. with tours and exhibitbased
art making from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. This program is supported by Erie Arts and Culture, Erie Insurance, and PA Cyber School. Call 4595477 for more information or visit www.erieartmuseum.org/secondsundays
