We’d like to invite you to join us for a very special evening. Each year students at Mercyhurst offer a dance performance to the community. This year the performance will couple George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, a signature work of New York City Ballet to the music of J. S. Bach, with Sleeping Beauty, Act III. Princess Aurora will celebrate her wedding with a presentation of her court princesses, fairies, Puss ‘n Boots, Red Riding Hood and more to music by Tchaikovsky.
This dance program is performed in honor of former Mercyhurst dance student Jenni-Lyn Watson. Seven years ago, the topic of domestic violence became very personal to the Mercyhurst University community when Jenni-Lyn’s life was taken.
The weekend performances will be held on April 28, 29 and 30, 2017, at the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center on the campus of Mercyhurst University, including evening shows at 7p.m. on Friday and Saturday and matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Funds raised will benefit the Jenni-Lyn Watson Memorial Scholarship at Mercyhurst and SafeNet, Erie’s Domestic Violence Agency.
