Superbly Co-Directed by Jerry Brace and Mark Tanenbaum, PACA brought the curtain up on a cavalcade of talent that made up their incredible production of Richard O’Brien’s surreal “Rocky Horror Show”
For anybody who may not be familiar with this cult classic, the Rocky Horror is narrated by a criminologist that tells the tale of a newly engaged couple Brad Majors and Janet Weiss who find themselves lost and with a flat tire on a cold and rainy late November evening, somewhere near Denton, Ohio. Seeking a telephone, the couple walks to a nearby castle where they discover a group of strange and outlandish people who are holding an Annual Transylvanian Convention. They are soon swept into the world of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a self-proclaimed “sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania”. The ensemble of convention attendees also includes servants Riff Raff, his sister Magenta, and a groupie named Columbia.
With stunning stage presence and a captivating performance Brittany M. Soule in what is arguably the lead role as Frankfurter was simply amazing, delivering a performance that was raw, dripping with talent, and tremendous to say the least, and dominating the stage.
Chris Gaertner as Brad Majors offered the audience a high-energy and intense performance that hit all the marks and was without a doubt spectacular, while his onstage wife Janet played by Earl Kunsman presented a stunning performance, gliding through his role and truly embodying Janet Weiss.
Adele Crotty Gross as Columbia, Aimee Kastas as Magenta, and Justin Moyer as Eddie all delivered talent rich and captivating performances that absolutely hypnotized every audience member.
John Stockhausen let it rip and gave an amazing performance as Dr. Scott that was spot on and dazzling and an absolute pleasure, while Jerry Brace’s performance as the Narrator was just as timeless and fabulous as Rocky Horror itself.
George Silkworth as Riff-Raff delivered a totally creepy and entrancing performance that was frankly sensational, and Frankfurter’s beloved creation, Rocky who is supposed to be the “perfect man” was incredibly portrayed by John Schaaf, as he delivered a power packed and perfect performance in his role.
Additionally a wonderful ensemble of Popcorn Girls that included Annie Rosenthall, Morgan Brundage, Lynn McGaughey, Nikki McGaughey, Marnie Foss, Brad Schnars, Carlee Rankins, Mackenzie Lee Sprague, and Brittany Shaw, along with Linda Kemp as an Usherette.
Co-Directors Jerry Brace and Mark Tanenbaum also assembled a hard-hitting and seemingly note for note perfect group of Musician that comprised the shows live band that included Grahm Scott, Pete Gool, Nick Warren, and Morgan Brace.
Additionally, a special mention should be made of the production crew who all did an outstanding job, and that includes Dan Pryne who was the set designer, Annie Rosenthall who handled Costumes, Props, and is the show’s Stage Manager, David Schroeder who created a marvelous Light Design for the show, and Martin “Mole” Senger who did a wonderful job as the show’s Sound Designer.
Complete with all the live music that we all know and love that was brilliantly performed, a remarkable cast that all gave tremendous performances, and of course the fishnets, corsets, and incredible seduction that the Rocky Horror Show is famous for, PACA’s production is a real homage to the classic, and a hilarious and irresistible Rock’N’Roll wild ride that no audience will soon forget, and a must see this October.
