When people around the country hear the phrase “Leader of Men” you might think of the title of the breakthrough hit single recorded by the Canadian rock band Nickelback.

When the people of Erie hear the phrase “Leader of Men” only one thought comes to mind, one of the greatest bands of its kind ever in Erie and this week’s featured band.

Leader of Men is perhaps the most electrifying rock cover bands playing out in Erie today. This four-piece band performs the music of Godsmack, Nickelback, Seether, Puddle of Mud, and a plethora of other new and classic rock bands.

The band takes much of its musical influences from many of the world’s most popular artists such as Ozzy Osborne, Godsmack, Nickelback, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Judas Priest, Ratt, AC-DC, Quiet Riot, Seether, Salvia, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, and Kiss to name only a few.Being 2011 RockErie Music Award winners, Leader of Men is made up of members Blaise Brutto on Lead Vocals, John Brutto on backing vocals and all guitars, Jimmie Gillespie on Bass and Jim Horne on Drums.

Having a wealth of talent and decades of musical experience between them, the Leader of Men members are all veteran musicians having been in such bands as Bad Attitude, Knight Witch, Wicked Wayz, Mammoth, Hammered, Moonbaby, Mr. Meaner, Can’t Spell Bob and many others.

With a very high-energy show, Leader of Men creates a one of its kind type of dynamic with their audience. This band brings to every show a sense of energy, true professionalism, and an unequaled relationship with their audience, and exceptionally performed music to the stage.

These four phenomenal and incredibly talented musicians drive the band as Leader of Men has achieved the goal in our local scene of being one of the most charismatic and popular acts in Erie’s musical history.
