Room 33 Steps Back In Time

This weekend kicks-off the eighth annual edition of the Erie International Film Festival, bringing with it a world of international stories and lending a slice of international prestige and excitement to the shores of Erie PA.

As in past years, this edition of the Erie International Film Festival will be held in the heart of our City from Friday December 10th through Saturday December 18th, 2021. With nearly 60 films slated to screen in this year’s Festival, EIFF continues to celebrate new trends in digital media and recognizes Trans-media Filmmakers who employ an innovative, interactive, web-based or multi-platform approach to story creation, as well as traditional style films that will be presented to the public via state-of-the-art-technology.

In addition to the usual virtual presentations that the festival offers to our local Community, the Erie Film Fest has announced the second edition of its electrifying new film presentation program added to 2019 festival schedule, dubbed the “Roaring 20’s Dinner Theatre Gala” that will be produced in cooperation with one of Erie’s most popular and unique locally owned establishments, ROOM 33, located at 1033 State St.

As Erie’s only prohibition-inspired speakeasy-style venue, ROOM 33 offers small plates and entrees, along with desserts, craft cocktails, an extensive wine, and beer list, silent movies, and live music every weekend.

Founded by Rebecca Ann Styn, and intended to be a celebration of the pre and post-prohibition era in which everything beyond their secret bookcase entrance is reflected in the distinctive mood of the prohibition era.

The 1920s themed Gala event is scheduled for this Saturday, December 11th, as a special event that will feature nearly 20 of the most gripping, well done, and entertaining award-nominated films from around the world and across the United States, and special musical guest, Aria and the Voiceless headlining the evening’s extravaganza. Also on the bill for Saturday’s musical entertainment will be special guest Rachel Bailey from New York.

Fronted by the incredibly talented Aria Alexander, the band is comprised of tremendously talented musicians that include Bri Carnegie on Drums, Danny Pakulsk on the Bass Guitar, and the incredible Eric Brewer on lead Guitar.

This hard-driving and super silky sound that pours out of every note of each song simply is inspired, and is far more than one would expect, and truly the total musical package. Pumping out originals that are so well crafted and incredibly talent soaked Aria Alexander is, without doubt, one of the most gifted performers ever to stand on an Erie stage, delivering passionate and electrifying performances every single show

With the blending of sounds, intensity, and a rich voice that seems to merge Janis Joplin, Alannah Myles, Liz Phair, Aretha Franklin, and Michelle Branch all wrapped up into one tremendously adorable package, Aria Alexander is purely stunning to listen to, with a stage presence to match.

In addition to a phenomenal selection of films and tremendous stage acts, the evening will also feature some sensational food and drink specials that will include $3.00 Craft Beers,

select $5.00 Appetizer Menu, the very unique French 75 for only $7.00, and for all those who are looking for a Spirit-Free Cocktail, try the Blind Tiger Bee’s Knees for only $5.

The Roaring 20’s Dinner Theatre Gala will open its doors at 6:00 PM, with the entire event starting sharply at 6:30 PM. This Gala special event will be offered to the public at no charge with free admission.
