Single Voice Reading Series To Present Writer and Actor Benjamin Busch
The Single Voice Reading Series at Allegheny College will present writer, actor and Iraq War veteran Benjamin Busch at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Tillotson Room of the Tippie Alumni Center. All events in the Single Voice Reading Series are free and open to the public.
A U.S. Marine Corps infantry officer who served two combat tours in Iraq, Busch is also an actor, photographer and film director. He played the role of Officer Anthony Colicchio on the HBO series “The Wire” and has appeared on “Homicide,” “The West Wing” and “Generation Kill.”
He is the author of the memoir “Dust to Dust,” for which he received the Great Lakes Colleges Association New Writers Award in Nonfiction in 2013.
Following Busch in the Single Voice series will be poet Richard Blanco, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 30 in Ford Chapel. In January 2013 President Barack Obama selected Blanco to be the inaugural poet.
