The Logan Series Opens with the Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass
The Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass will open the 24th season of Music at Noon: The Logan Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
A veritable Dream Team of virtuoso brass players, RMPBB’s members have appeared on the world’s most prominent stages. RMPBB as an ensemble has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Baltimore Symphony, the São Paolo State Symphony Orchestra, the Imani Winds, Canadian Brass, Empire Brass and Boston Brass, and been featured on the National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.”
RMPBB’s Logan Series performance takes place at noon on Monday, Sept. 23, in the McGarvey Commons of the Reed Union Building. Admission is free, and reserved parking for audience members will be available in the Reed lot.
Also appearing in Music at Noon: The Logan Series this year will be Scottish Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis on Wednesday, Oct. 23; British a cappella trio Voice on Tuesday, Nov. 12; duoJalal on Monday, Jan. 27; the Joel Harrison Septet on Wednesday, Feb. 26; and Third Coast Percussion on Wednesday, March 26.
Music at Noon: The Logan Series receives major support from the Kay Logan Trust and additional funding from the Penn State Behrend Student Activity Fee, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, the Erie Arts Endowment of ArtsErie, and Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour. The Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass’ performance is partially supported by a grant from Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, a program developed and funded by the Heinz Endowments; the William Penn Foundation; the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency; and the Pew Charitable Trusts. It is administered by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
