The Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF) will kick off its 20th birthday year by hosting new classes for adults and young children at the LEAF Education Center (1501 W 6th St).
Adults are invited to escape the cold weather and make time for self-care and fitness in the beautiful, tree-lined setting of the LEAF Education Center. Back to back, four-week sessions of adult yoga classes led by experienced, certified yoga instructors begin January 11 and continue through March 1 (a minimum of 10 pre-registered/paid participants are required to hold each four-week session). All levels are welcome and no yoga experience is required. Attendees need only bring a yoga mat and a water bottle to find their own path, self-worth, and healing through the science of yoga. Cost is $40 per 4 wk session OR $12 drop-in class fee (A discount is available for LEAF Plus Members). For the younger crowd, LEAF offers fun and relaxing “Tiny Trees” yoga classes for children ages 2-5 with caregiver participation. Share in the joy of yoga and get active together with fun and relaxing classes led by a certified instructor! Each class will include playful yoga poses, songs, and age-appropriate relaxation techniques. No yoga experience required! LEAF’s popular Wednesday evening gardening workshops led by local experts return in January! This six week series is a great opportunity for both novices and seasoned gardeners to plan ahead for warm weather gardening during the colder months! Workshops will be held from 7-8:30PM on Jan 31, Feb 7, Feb 21, Feb 28, Mar 7 and March 14. Featured topics include Growing Vegetables and Flowers in Containers & Raised Beds, Garden Design for Homeowners, Butterfly-Friendly Gardening and Pruning Woodies 101. Cost is $10 per workshop.
