Remember the Seniors
By Dan and Alison Tingley
Golden Senior Moments is now at the Station Dinner Theatre and Tavern. It was compiled and written by David Durst. He also directs the show. It’s billed as a tribute to senior citizens. It features skits and songs with the recurring theme of bad memory.
The show features David Durst, Pam Durst, Carrie Smith, and Dave Edmunds. Each plays one or more older adults in various situations. Some of the skits and songs are cute. We especially enjoyed Smith singing “Memory.” It was funny and very well done. Smith also does an excellent job of embodying every stereotype regarding older adults throughout the show. Smith and Edmunds are quite funny dispensing advice on how to have a happy marriage. Edmunds also demonstrates his talents while singing the “Second Marriage” song. The Shadyside Senior Dance Club skit is a crowd pleaser. The songs are well done, with nice harmony delivered by Edmunds.
The set and costumes work well. Unfortunately, the jokes are a bit redundant.
Golden Senior Moments runs through March 24. Call (814) 864-2022 or go on line to www.canterburyfeast.com for show times, reservations, and access to the season schedule.
