Shop Local, Support Local Artists and Makers: PACA Craft Fair

On Sunday, February 2 from noon – 5pm PACA is hosting a Craft Fair of local artists and makers. Organized pacagroundhogunder an initiative that supports shopping local to benefit our community’s economy, especially in the creative sector, this is the second quarterly event planned by baker and creative mastermind, Michelle Chylinski.

Called the Shadow Chaser Event in honor of Groundhog Day, this edition of the Craft Fair will feature live local music, food, movie screenings and craft activities for kids. Come out and celebrate the holiday in style! The fair is an opportunity to shop local and meet artists and makers with a wide range of decorative and useful items made sustainably and ethically. Eat, shop, relax and have fun! Erie can be dreary this time of year. Come out and chase the groundhog’s shadow with us. Whether spring comes early or not, this event will surely brighten you up! Admission is a $1 donation at the door. There will also be a Chinese auction of goods donated by the exhibiting crafters. Proceeds will benefit the Inner City Neighborhood Art House. Work by the Art House students will be on display during the Craft Fair. The event is hosted by PACA (Performing Artists Collective Alliance). The vision of PACA is to create a community performing arts center and theater that promotes the widest variety of artistic endeavors and educational opportunities. By providing quality classroom and performance space to a wide range of practitioners it is hoped that a synergistic overlapping of talents will naturally occur and artistic creativity will organically develop and evolve. This sharing of talents should assist in creating new and original collaborations between artists. The combination of studio space in conjunction with performance space will allow these collaborations to be seamlessly presented to the public.

The event will feature twenty-five crafters with a wide range of goods including: jewelry, fiber art, fine
art, glass art, décor, pottery and baked goods. Some featured crafters include: A Dyeing Art, Agatha &
Emily, Backwood Dealings, Beth Benson, Brother Nature Glass, The Cookie Lady, Ellie Ghost, Mr
Smudgens, Rags & Old Iron, Sarah Millspaw, That Voodoo and Yellow Elephant Clothing.
