Allegheny College Voice Instructor Diane Kalinowski Wins Grand Prize in Recital Competition
Diane Kalinowski, a voice instructor at Allegheny College, was recently awarded one of two grand prizes in the LaDue Professional Recital Competition at the Rochester Lyric Opera.
Established to honor the memory of G. William LaDue, a native of Rochester, New York, the competition celebrates the artistry of singers who have dedicated themselves to the vocal arts.
As part of the grand prize, Kalinowski will perform a shared recital in Rochester in April.
A native of Cochranton, she began her study of voice with Vicki Jamison, instructor in music at Allegheny College, and continues to coach with Vicki and Ward Jamison. She received her master’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Kansas and while there was the soprano apprentice at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. She has been an Allegheny voice instructor since 2011.
