StringsforaCURE™ (SFAC), an Erie-based nonprofit charitable organization that helps cancer patients, is hosting their second annual Pickin’ On Cancer fundraiser on Saturday, October 5th, from 6:30 to 11:30 pm at The Brewerie at Union Station 123 West 14th Street Erie, PA.
Tickets are a $20 donation, which includes a chance to win the Chris Daughtry HOPE pendant. Every paid donation through the door receives a free StringsforaCURE wristband. Tickets can be purchased at Competitive Gear, La Petite Jeweler’s, World of Music, online at StringsforaCURE.org and also at the door the night of the event.
There will be live music by the Heliotropes, Silverlight, and Eric Brewer and Friends. Fundraising activities during the event will include a Chinese Auction, Silent Art Auction, 50/50’s, a prize wheel and SFAC guitar string jewelry.
StringsforaCURE™ is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing education, comfort, support and financial assistance directly to cancer patients, primarily those with breast cancer. SFAC provides gas, grocery and pharmacy gift cards, comfort baskets and medical grants to help ease patients’ emotional and financial burdens from diagnosis to survivorship. They also offer educational materials to educate patients on cancer prevention and raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and wellness to recovery.
Famous musicians donate their used guitar strings to StringsforaCURE, and Elisa Guida, SFAC founder/executive director and jeweler, and also a two-time breast cancer survivor, transforms them into one-of-a-kind bracelets, earrings, pendants and rings. In addition to the Pickin’ On Cancer fundraiser and SFAC guitar-string jewelry, money is raised through their online Virtual Quilt and Pennies2Patients Program as well as through private donations from individuals and organizations.
