‘Saturday Night Live’ Star Seth Meyers to Perform at Penn State Behrend April 19
Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers will headline the spring comedy show at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, on April 19. Public tickets are $25 and go on sale Monday, Feb. 25.
Penn State Behrend students can purchase discounted tickets for just $15. They are available now at the Office of Student Activities desk in the Reed Union Building.
Meyers, the head writer for “Saturday Night Live,” is featured on the program’s Weekend Update segment, a mock news broadcast. He took on the role in 2006, partnering with Amy Poehler. When she left the program in 2009, he became sole anchor.
Meyers, 39, joined “Saturday Night Live” after working with the improv group Boom Chicago. His film credits include “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “New Year’s Eve.”
Chris Hardwick will open the show. He hosts “The Nerdest Podcast,” a weekly geek-chic Internet program, and “Talking Dead,” a talk show devoted to AMC’s zombie drama “The Walking Dead.”
The show will begin at 7 p.m. in the Junker Center. Seating is general admission; tickets can be purchased online, at www.estore.psu.edu (click “PSU Erie Office of Student Activities”), by phone at 898-6171 or at the Office of Student Activities desk.
