This Weekend’s Hot Spot

Dollar Bill and the Spare Change Band at the Bullfrog

By Terry Pentelli

This Friday January 25th, the Bullfrog Bar kicks off your Friday right with one of the most slamming Blues bands in town, the Dollar Bill and the Spare Change band.

Located just above Andy’s Billiards at 3864 Peach Street, the Bullfrog Bar has a stylish, yet comfortable feel with an outdoor balcony, a live entertainment area and seating for around 160 people.  In addition to the spacious main room and bar, the wait staff is always very friendly and adds to the friends and family feel of the place.

With a great menu of pub favorites that are priced very competitively, and a very well stocked bar with bartenders that can whip up whatever you may be thirsty for, the Bullfrog is one of Peach Streets most popular and affordable taverns.

Whether you want to grab a few cocktails with friends, or order from their delicious menu, or catch the game there on the plethora of well placed TV screens about the establishment, or enjoy the fantastic live entertainment the Bullfrog has become well known for, this place has something for everybody.

As just another chapter in the hard-hitting shows the Bullfrog regularly offers, this Friday’s show will rock the house with the sounds of the hardcore Mississippi Blues with a Rockin’ edge as the Dollar Bill and the Spare Change band lets it rip.

Dollar Bill and the Spare Change fires up the crowd with killer covers of songs like “Do What You Want To Do” by Coco Montoya, “Hoochie Coochie Man” by Muddy Waters, “Cocaine” by Eric Clapton, “The House Is Rockin’” and “Pride and Joy” both by Stevie Ray Vaughan, along with “The Thrill Is Gone” by the great B.B. King, “Mustang Sally” by Wilson Picket and of course, “Sweet Home Chicago” by the Blues Brothers and so many more great toe tapping tunes.

In addition to pounding out Rock’n covers, the band cranks out hard-hitting original tunes by Bill Crissman, that include “No Time Blues,” “Had To Be a Better Way,” “Racin’ With The Blues,” “Was I Ever Her Man,” and “Spare Change Shuffle.”

As two-time nominees for the RockErie Music Awards Best Blues Band category, Dollar Bill and the Spare Change features Bill Crissman on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Anthony Stefanelli on Drums and Vocals, Fred Colvin on Bass and Vocals along with Mark Dolak on Harmonica and Vocals.

Kicking up a super frenzy of a wicked good time, with that party hard feel, Dollar Bill and the Spare Change offers the most insane show of the weekend and the best Blues in town.

For the best Happy Hour show of the weekend, the most devastating Delta and Chicago Blues blend with the most explosive party like rock stars attitude at Peach Street’s slickest hot spot, head over to the Bullfrog Bar this Friday at 6pm where the Thrill certainly isn’t gone, it’s just getting started.
