Basement Transmissions’ Dustin Thomas Remembrance Show

This Friday night, July 12th at 5pm, Basement Transmissions located at 1501 State St., Erie will host a mega blow out show that will honor and remember Dustin Thomas, of Desolation Of Insanity.
As a vocalist, guitar player, and a composer of music for his band Desolation of Insanity, Dustin Thomas was one of the most gifted and talented musicians in our community.
On Sunday, February 17, 2013, Dustin Thomas passed away from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident and survived by two sons, Keith A. Thomas and Keagan Wray Randolph, along with his parents, Kimberly and Michael Thomas, stepfather William Briggs, including siblings Jessica Thomas Walton, Mariya Thomas Renner, Shane Thomas, Shawnta Briggs Parks, Kenny Briggs, William E. Briggs and his fiancé Chelsey Orr.
In addition to being a Father, a Son, a Brother, a Master Musician, and a good friend to many, Dustin defended our country as a member of the 1/112th Infantry Regiment, BRAVO Company, Cambridge Springs, Pa.
Established by Bob Jenson of Pegasus Unicorn in 2011, Basement Transmissions has become the Mecca for the Alternative and underground music scene in Erie.
The show will feature five bands including 9mm Dental Plan, Embers To Ashes, and Ashen Frost along with a special one night only reunion performance of Desolation Of Insanity.
Desolation Of Insanity was one of the most intense, power driven, in your face pure Metal bands to have ever played an Erie stage.
Offering full on, balls to the walls high energy shows that blared out Metal madness that devastated their audiences, Desolation Of Insanity always delivers unadulterated Metal at its best.
From Pittsburgh, Embers To Ashes is a brilliant four-piece example of what today’s Hardcore should sound like. Always high throttle and never letting the Rock stop, Embers To Ashes pumps out the most original sound with a slam’n stage show that Rocks the house.
Cranking out some of the hardest hitting Hardcore that has ever come out of Salamanca, Ny, 9mm Dental Plan just crushes their audiences with melodic harmonies, power vocal, spitfire drumming, and killer breakdowns that are devastating. This five piece Metal giant is absolutely one of the high points of the show.
Waking Myth is a supercharged local band from Girard that kicks out that classic Hard sound with a modern and original edge and delivers strong growling male vocals that blow you away. Uniquely, Waking Myth has added intense female vocals to the mix, allowing the band to stand out from the crowd. With a high-energy stage show, fantastic original songs, and high caliber musicianship, Waking Myth takes Metal to the next level.
As one of the most extreme Metal bands around, Ashen Frost always delivers the most raw, in your face Hardcore Black Metal in town. Ashen Frost never fails to bring the noise and rock the mayhem everywhere they play, always keeping the party rocking and the energy flowing, and doing it all in a melt your face off style.
This entire event is produced by Alex Harilla and his Gimp Guy Underground Productions, a force fueling the fires of our underground scene, and those dedicated and hard working musicians who keep it real. As an invaluable mainstay of our scene, Alex Harilla has over the past several years, not only kept the underground music scene alive, but also has been instrumental in its growth and has been a key figure in its evolution.
