What Is Shimmy Mob 2013?

Dancers around the world are gearing up to make belly dance history once again – and all for a great cause!

On Saturday, May 11th, “Shimmy Mobs” will be appearing randomly at various locations globally to promote World Belly Dance Day and help raise awareness and funds for domestic abuse victims’ shelters.

Erie’s event, hosted by Lake Erie Belly Dance, benefits SafeNet Erie.

HOW IT WORKS:

Step 1: Quick and Easy Online Registration

Cost:  $35

Includes your Shimmy Mob kit and t-shirt.

All proceeds go to SafeNet Erie!

Step 2:  Learn the Choreography Online at your pace!

(Like taking a professional belly dance class in your living room!)

Step 3: Attend the FREE Rehearsals with Lake Erie Belly Dance!  After you learn the choreo, FREE group rehearsals will be scheduled closer to the event for our team to practice together!

“Flash Mobs” (a group of people organized to meet and perform a specified dance, then disperse quickly) are always a crowd pleaser. And Shimmy Mob aims to entertain! Shimmy Mob represents all styles of belly dance and audiences will be treated to a show full of fun and variety. Shimmy Mob broke the record in 2012 and plans to break it again in 2013 by being the largest event of its kind, having a huge geographical territory covered all in one day.

To date, 138 cities, and counting, across the globe will join in dance on May 11th. Erie’s event, at an exciting location and time TBA, will also include an after show featuring belly dance and dance/musical acts from around the region!

For more information on how you can participate or come and see the show, visit the SHIMMY MOB INFO PAGE.

~We hope you’ll join us in dance! Remember, you don’t have to be a belly dancer to come and join the fun!

xoxo,

Your Excited Team Leader,

Carla C. Fleming
